Tasty the Turkey is a very special bird who uses his intelligence, pluck and patriotic tail to save himself from becoming the guest of honor at Thanksgiving dinner and Thanksgiving from Big Retail. His life story, and specific adventures along the way, make up his current and future catalog of Thanksgiving songs and stories.
Big Retail is not happy that Tasty is promoting Thanksgiving so they are trying to discredit him from becoming its mascot with two attack ads in 2016. In 2015 his one-turkey show, "My Patriotic Tail" tells how he influenced the creation of the United States. In 2014, he proudly added “I Wanna Be a Mascot” to his 2012 self-titled song, “Tasty the Turkey”.
The goal of amateur songwriters Scott Hasty and Scott Henrichsen is to give American families a new way to celebrate a truly American holiday. Ultimately, they consider the Tasty songs to be the beginning of a new musical genre, one solely for Thanksgiving songs. To help achieve this, they hope others will be inspired to record their own Thanksgiving songs.
Songs with characters like “Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer” and “Frosty the Snowman” have brought joy to children for generations at Christmas. If Tasty can provide even a fraction of that same happiness to families during the Thanksgiving season, the Scotts will consider these Tasty songs to have been a success.
